SALVADOR M. BROCATO, III
Sal was born in New Orleans, LA in 1969. He grew up in the 9th Ward, New Orleans East and Gentilly. He is the great-grandson of the founder of Angelo Brocato’s Italian Ice Cream and Pastries.
He attended Brother Martin High School from 1983 to 1988. After graduation, he attended Southeastern Louisiana University and studied Accounting.
In 1993, he entered the New Orleans Police Department’s Municipal Training Academy. Sal graduated from the police academy in 1994 and received a POST (Peace Officer’s Standard Training) certificate. He was also awarded the Louis G. Sirgo award, which is given to a recruit and voted on by his class, as the “ideal police officer”.
After serving for three years with the NOPD, Sal joined the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office. After thirteen years of service with the JPSO, he retired in 2009. Sal also worked with the State of Louisiana, Attorney General’s Office as an agent in their criminal division after Hurricane Katrina. He was involved in street law enforcement duties and also screened criminal matters for prosecution regarding contractor fraud.
Sal graduated from the University of New Orleans in May of 1996. He was accepted to the Southern University Law Center and enrolled in August of 1996. Sal graduated from Southern in May of 1999. He successfully passed the bar exam in July of 1999 and in October 1999 was sworn in as an attorney.
In January of 2000, he formed the Law office of Salvador M. Brocato, III, APLC in Metairie, LA. He continues to practice in that capacity today at 800 N. Causeway Blvd., Suite 100, Metairie, LA 70001.
Sal’s practice focuses on personal injury, criminal, DWI’s and traffic related matters. He had practiced in Federal, State, Parish, City, Municipal, Traffic, Administrative and Justice of the Peace Courts throughout the State of Louisiana.
He is licensed to practice in Louisiana state courts, all of the Federal District Court’s in the State of Louisiana and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal.
